Fern Dell Farm was established in 1853 by Shermen's ancestors. The original deed documents the sale of 40 acres to Jeremiah Carroll for the sum of $40.00.
Shermen & Kaaren are renovating the farm-house, revealing the original, hand-planed log cabin. Once a stock farm, it is now a hobby farm where Shermen and Kaaren live, create art, and raise cats, dogs, chickens and sheep. Their dream is to continue to revive the farm, raise grass fed beef, grow corn for their furnace, and utilize the wind and sun for power.
